This year SKC has entered two volleyball teams into the AVA secondary schools volleyball league in Timaru. Friday night was 1st round with our boy’s team winning against Roncalli senior varsity 3 sets to 1. The girl’s team also competed against Roncalli Junior Boys 2 sets to 1. This volleyball team shows great skill and potential in future games to come.
Also this week we have some of our top basketball stars representing North Otago at the under 17 national basketball tournament. Congrats to Duran Cooper and Jacob Fowler for making this team and given the chance to showcase their skillsets at a higher level. Last weekend SKC 1st XI Cricket team played in the first round of the Borton Cup and beat Albion by 125 runs.
Standing out on that day was future star Lachlan Brookes who finished with 6 wickets in an outstanding performance bowling. Other standouts including Craig Smith (Mr Smith) 50, Jesse Valpy 27, Regan George 23, Liam Direen 22, and finally Anthony Docherty finished with 3 wickets. And Finally Congratulations to Max Yanzick For Receiving the junior non stadia athlete of the year at the canterbury prizegiving last week
